WW III Team Yankee: American M2 or M3 Bradley Troop (x5 Plastic)

The M2 Bradley partially replaces the venerable M113 APC in some US Army formations and is also the American answer to the Infanty Fighting Vehicles (IFVs) fielded by many other nations. The M2 Bradley IFV is designed to allow mechanised infantry to keep up with the M1 Abrams main battle tank due to its comparable levels of battlefield manoeuvrability, while at the same time increasing the firepower available to those units with its turret mounted 25mm Bushmaster automatic cannon and TOW-2 anti-tank guided missiles. Carrying its infantry into the midst of the enemy and allowing them to fight ‘mounted’ when required, the M2 Bradley IFV is anything but a simple battlefield taxi. The M2A2 was the first fundamental upgrade to the Bradley IFV. The vehicle’s powerplant, transmission, and armour were all improved. The new configuration incorporated both laminated and spaced armour. The modifications resulted in the elimination of the systems which made the Bradley amphibious as well as the side firing ports, but allowed for the incorporation of explosive reactive armour making the A2 far better protected than the initial production models. A new Kevlar liner was included to protect the crew and troops inside the vehicle. Up to six infantry and their equipment could be carried, and the new turret armour configuration allowed for additional stowage space.
